Quick answer: The best time to visit Aruba is May, June or November. The weather is dry and sunny, crowds are smaller, and hotel rates are well below winter prices. September and October are the cheapest months. Mid-December to April is high season, with the most guaranteed sunshine and the highest prices. Aruba sits south of the main hurricane track, so it is a good choice year-round.
What is Aruba’s weather like by month?
Aruba is warm all year, at about 82°F (28°C) on average. It gets only about 17 inches of rain a year, and steady trade winds from the northeast, typically 15 to 20 mph, keep it from feeling sticky.
| Months | Temperature | Rain | Prices and crowds |
|---|---|---|---|
| January to February | 79 to 84°F | Very little | Highest prices; Carnival |
| March to April | 80 to 86°F | Very little | High; spring break peaks in mid-March |
| May to June | 82 to 88°F | Slightly more | Lower prices, quieter |
| July to August | 84 to 90°F | Low to moderate | Busier with summer families; best wind for watersports |
| September to October | 83 to 89°F | Wettest of the year (short showers) | Cheapest and quietest |
| November to December | 80 to 86°F | Low | Moderate, rising toward Christmas |
Is Aruba outside the hurricane belt?
Mostly, yes. Aruba is about 15 miles off the coast of Venezuela, south of the path most Atlantic hurricanes take, so direct hits are rare. It isn’t completely immune. Distant storms can bring rough seas, gusty wind or heavy rain for a day or two, and they can cancel connecting flights through the US. That’s why we still suggest insurance for trips from August to October. See our guide to travel insurance in hurricane season.
What is the cheapest month to go to Aruba?
September is usually the cheapest month. Kayak’s data shows an average hotel rate of about $501 a night in September, compared with about $835 in February. October is close behind. Flights are also cheaper outside the winter school holidays. Our Aruba trip cost guide has a full budget.
When is the most expensive time to visit Aruba?
From mid-December to April, and especially over Christmas, New Year, Presidents’ Day week and spring break. Book hotels three to six months ahead for these dates, and compare rates on our hotels page.
When is the best time for windsurfing and kitesurfing?
The trade winds are strongest from about May to August. Aruba’s Hi-Winds watersports event is scheduled for May 13 to 18, 2026. If you want calm water for snorkelling, choose the gentler months from October to December.
Which events are worth planning around?
- Carnival (January to February): parades and parties. Hotels fill up, so book early.
- Hi-Winds (May): windsurfing and kitesurfing competitions.
- Art Fair in San Nicolas (around September to October): murals and local artists.
- Restaurant Month (November): set menus at many restaurants.
