Quick answer: A week in Aruba for two people costs roughly $3,200 on a budget, about $6,000 mid-range and $10,000 or more at a beachfront resort. Flights and your hotel make up most of the bill. Every visitor arriving by air (age 8 and over) also pays a $20 sustainability fee. September is the cheapest month for hotels, and February is the most expensive.
How much does a week in Aruba cost for two?
For two adults flying from the US East Coast, plan on $3,200 to $10,500 for seven nights, depending on where you stay and how often you eat out. Below is the estimate we use for planning. Prices are in US dollars and are rounded.
| Cost (2 people, 7 nights) | Budget | Mid-range | Luxury |
|---|---|---|---|
| Round-trip flights | $800 | $1,100 | $1,600 |
| Hotel or apartment | $1,050 ($150/night) | $2,450 ($350/night) | $4,900 ($700/night) |
| Food and drinks | $840 | $1,400 | $2,520 |
| Car rental or taxis | $315 | $450 | $500 |
| Tours and activities | $200 | $500 | $1,000 |
| Sustainability fee (2 × $20) | $40 | $40 | $40 |
| Total | ≈ $3,245 | ≈ $5,940 | ≈ $10,560 |

How much are flights to Aruba?
Round-trip fares to Aruba’s Queen Beatrix Airport (AUA) usually run about $350 to $1,000 per person from the US. Nonstop flights from East Coast hubs such as New York, Boston, Charlotte and Miami tend to sit at the lower end. Fares climb over Christmas, Presidents’ Day week and spring break.
- Search with flexible dates. Midweek departures are often cheaper than Saturday ones.
- Book at least 6 to 8 weeks ahead for winter trips.
- Compare prices on our flights page before you book with the airline or agency you choose.
How much does a hotel in Aruba cost per night?
Aruba hotels are expensive by Caribbean standards. Kayak’s data puts the island-wide average at about $501 a night in September and about $835 a night in February. That average is pulled up by large resorts on Palm Beach and Eagle Beach. You can pay far less if you stay a short walk inland or in Noord, Oranjestad or Savaneta.
- Apartments and small guesthouses: often $120 to $200 a night, usually with a kitchen.
- Mid-range hotels near Eagle Beach: about $250 to $450 a night.
- High-rise resorts on Palm Beach: $450 to $900 or more in high season.
- All-inclusive resorts: often $800+ a night for two, but meals and drinks are included.
Compare rates for the same dates on our hotels page. Check whether the price includes Aruba’s room tax and service charge, because some sites only add these at checkout.
How much should you budget for food in Aruba?
Plan on $60 to $180 per person per day. Aruba imports most of its food, so grocery and restaurant prices are higher than in the US.
- A casual lunch at a snack truck or local spot costs about $12 to $20 per person.
- Dinner at a sit-down restaurant on Palm Beach costs about $40 to $70 per person before drinks.
- Tap water in Aruba comes from a desalination plant and is safe to drink, so you won’t need to buy bottled water.
- A kitchen, plus one supermarket run for breakfast and snacks, can cut your food bill by a third.
Do you need a rental car in Aruba?
Not if you stay on Palm Beach or Eagle Beach. Buses run along the hotel strip, and taxis charge fixed rates by zone. A car pays off if you want to see Baby Beach, Arikok National Park or the north coast. Expect about $40 to $80 a day for a small car, and more for a jeep. Arikok’s rough roads need a 4×4, so consider a guided tour instead if you only plan one trip there. Compare rental prices on our car rental page.
What fees do you pay to enter Aruba?
Every visitor must complete Aruba’s online Embarkation and Disembarkation (ED) card before check-in. Since July 1, 2024, the ED card form also collects a $20 sustainability fee from visitors arriving by air.
- Children under 8, cruise passengers and residents don’t pay it.
- If you already paid it this calendar year with the same passport, you don’t pay it again.
- The fee appears on your card statement as AWSS or “Aruba ED Card payment by AWSS”.
- Use the official ED card site only. Look-alike sites charge extra “processing” fees.
When is the cheapest time to visit Aruba?
September and October are the cheapest months. Hotel rates fall by about 40% from their February peak, and Aruba sits south of the main hurricane track, so storms rarely hit the island directly. May, June and November are a good middle ground, with lower prices and dry weather. See our full guide to the best time to visit Aruba for a month-by-month breakdown.
How can you make an Aruba trip cheaper?
- Travel in the shoulder season (May, June or November) rather than December to April.
- Stay a few minutes inland from Palm Beach. All of Aruba’s beaches are public, so you can still use the same sand.
- Book a room with a kitchen and eat out once a day.
- Skip the car unless you plan day trips. Use the bus along the hotel strip.
- Compare all-inclusive and room-only prices for the same resort. All-inclusive pays off if you drink at the bar every day.
Is travel insurance worth it for Aruba?
For most trips, yes. Aruba rarely gets hurricanes, but your connecting flight through Miami or Charlotte can still be cancelled by a storm, and a medical evacuation from the island is very expensive. Read what travel insurance covers in hurricane season, then compare policies on our travel insurance page.
